| At the March meeting of the Pleasant Valley Fire Company, Dave Carao IV and Mike Shealey were officially removed from probation and recognized as Exterior Firefighters.
At the same time, on the opposite side of the fire district, during the March meeting of the Salt Point Fire Company, Priya Jain was also removed from probation and recognized as an Exterior Firefighter.
All three members recently completed the New York State Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) course and fulfilled the training and district requirements necessary to reach this milestone. The removal of the orange Probationary Firefighter helmet shield is a proud accomplishment in every firefighter’s career.
Since joining their departments, Dave, Mike, and Priya have demonstrated dedication, commitment, and a strong willingness to serve the community. Their hard work and training have prepared them to take the next step in their firefighting careers.
This accomplishment represents a positive step forward for the Pleasant Valley Fire District and both of its fire companies.
