| The members of the Salt Point Fire Company were recently honored with a framed "Certificate of Appreciation" from the United States Army - Fort Campbell, Kentucky in recognition of their dedication and hard work supporting the Trees for Troops program.
The certificate was signed by the Commanding Officer, Executive Officer, and Command Sergeant Major on behalf of the Officers, Soldiers, and Families of the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, the 1st Mobile Brigade, and the 101st Airborne Division, all stationed at Fort Campbell.
Between December 1 and December 12, FedEx Freight picked up 21,117 fresh-cut Christmas trees from 56 locations and delivered them in varying amounts to 94 military bases across the United States, spanning six branches of service.
The number of trees in 2025 set a new single year record for the program, surpassing the previous high of 19,229 trees in 2011. Since 2005, the program has provided a total of 347,390 free Christmas trees to military members and their families.
Company President Jeff Cady said, “This is why we do Trees for Troops; it makes it all worthwhile.”
The Pleasant Valley Fire District is proud to support those who serve our country and their families throughout the year, especially during the holiday season. |
