| The National Weather Service is tracking a significant and potentially hazardous winter storm expected to affect the area this weekend.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued from Sunday into Monday. Weather experts are predicting the possibility of more than one foot of snow along with extremely low temperatures.
Residents are encouraged to clear driveways and walkways of any debris, toys, or loose items today to prevent them from becoming buried or creating hazards for snow blowers and plows.
Now is the time to gather essential supplies, including non-perishable foods, pet necessities, and required medications. Make sure all necessities are on hand before the storm arrives.
It is also recommended to fill your vehicle’s gas tank and charge all portable power banks and electronic devices in advance. With strong winds forecasted, there is a risk of power outages, making preparation important.
Be sure to locate shovels and ice melt before they become difficult to access due to heavy snowfall.
Take steps to keep your home warm and safe, and, when possible, check on neighbors who may need assistance.
No matter the severity of the storm, the Pleasant Valley Fire District remains prepared and will be there if help is needed. |
