| Last Saturday, two members of the Pleasant Valley Fire District - Fire Police Division travelled out to the Suffolk County Fire Academy where they were hosting a Fire Police Field Day training and seminar.
Fire Police members from various departments across the state attended to learn and refresh their skills. The approximately 3 to 4 hours of training covered a range of topics, including:
* Fire police laws * Coordination of units and departments at scenes and large-scale events * Crime scene preservation * Communication techniques * How fire police can assist at fire scenes * Operating at hazardous materials (hazmat) incidents
The training was designed to prepare the dozens of attending fire police members for their duties in the field. |
