| A resident of the Pleasant Valley Fire District informed us of a close call they had recently. The resident had a decorative wooden tray on the top of their electric stove glass top to protect it from damages and scratches.
While they were away on vacation they were having their floors refinished and one of the workers accidentally made contact with the control knob, turning the stove on scorching the wooden tray. Luckily, they realized it and removed the smoldering wooden tray.
The stove top was damaged beyond repair and the microwave, cabinets and contents were damaged with smoke.
This incident could have been much worse if the workers didn't realize their mistake and left the house.
PLEASE DO NOT PLACE ANY COMBUSTABLE OR FLAMMABLE MATERIALS NEAR YOUR STOVE TOP |
