Deacon Shaun Boyce was sworn in last night by Chairman Jim Albrecht as a Chaplain in the Pleasant Valley Fire District.

Deacon Shaun resides in Salt Point and is a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie.

He was ordained a Deacon in the Archdiocese of New York at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral by Cardinal Dolan on June 15th, 2019.

He received a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Binghamton University, a Master’s Degree from SUNY New Paltz and a Master’s Degree in Theology from St. Joseph Seminary, Dunwoodie.

He currently is a social studies teacher in the Arlington Central School District since 2000. He has also taught at Dutchess Community College and Marist College.

His father and uncle have proudly served as volunteer firefighters.

Deacon Shaun said..."It is a privilege to be in the presence of men and women who truly love what they do, and I am really going to love being Chaplain. It’s been in my heart to serve this way for a very long time."

He and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 25 years and have two children, Mary and Shaun Jr. He looks forward to being a part of the Pleasant Valley Fire District family.

Welcome Deacon Shaun Boyce and thank you for being there for us!
