January 28, 2022

On January 25th at approximately 12:38 pm, the Pleasant Valley Fire District was dispatched for a structure fire at 93 Davis Road in Pleasant Valley. Firefighters responded to the alarm within two minutes of the dispatch. While enroute, units were notified of fire showing from the rear of the structure and a partial collapse of the roof. Assistant Chief Mark Luby (56-2) requested a second alarm of fire bringing additional resources to the scene.

Firefighters arrived within six minutes of their response. After ascertaining that no people were in the residence they began fire suppression activities. The fire was knocked down within twelve minutes of arrival. Over 35 firefighters were on scene and no loss of life or injuries were reported. The building was not a primary residence therefore no residents were displaced. The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation by the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division. Pleasant Valley personnel cleared the scene at 17:35 pm.

Agencies assisting at the scene included the Arlington Fire District, Roosevelt Fire District, East Clinton Fire District, Millbrook Fire Department, Mobile Life Support Services, New York State Police, Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation, and the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division. Pleasant Valley Fire District stations were covered by the West Clinton Fire District, LaGrange Fire District, and Unionvale Fire District. Dutchess County Department Emergency Response personnel provided crucial support throughout the incident.

The Pleasant Valley Fire District would like to remind residents to have working CO and smoke detectors in their residence and to have an evacuation plan in case of emergencies.
