| The Pleasant Valley Fire District has announced the appointment of Jacob Gates as its newest career firefighter.
Gates brings nearly five years of volunteer service with the district to his new full-time role. His dedication to both the department and the community has been recognized, including being named Member of the Year in 2023. Most recently, Gates served as EMS Lieutenant beginning in 2025 and worked for Northern Dutchess Paramedics until his transition to career firefighter.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jacob into his new role as a career firefighter," said District Chief John Cronk. "Having served our department and community as a volunteer and EMS Lieutenant, Jacob has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, skill, and dedication. We look forward to his continued service in this new capacity."
