| Anyone driving on Main Street recently surely noticed lots of activity in front of the firehouse and something missing...the old bright blue former NAPA store.
The early 1940's building that hosted many various businesses in its past and the 1922 Pleasant Valley Fire Company firehouse was purchased by the Pleasant Valley Fire District in 2022.
It's a big moment for Pleasant Valley—watching a familiar landmark disappear always stirs up a mix of nostalgia and curiosity. The demolition of the blue NAPA store, alongside the historic 1922 firehouse, signals not just the end of an era but the beginning of something new.
A special thank you to Baroni Recycling who donated the demolition, excavation and removal of the building. Their skill and expertise made a complicated job look easy!
The removal of the old NAPA store marks a significant change for Main Street in Pleasant Valley. While the immediate future for the site is an empty lot, there is a potential for future development that would benefit the fire district and the community. |
