The National Weather Service has issued a HEAT ADVISORY from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM this evening and a EXTREME HEAT WARNING, from 11 AM Monday to 8 PM Tuesday.

For the HEAT ADVISORY, heat index values between 95 and 100 degrees expected. For the EXTREME HEAT WARNING, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees expected.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Remember to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

The Town of Pleasant Valley will have cooling centers open for those unable to cool at home starting Monday.
