Salt Point Fire Company Auxiliary President Linda Lawlor, a Hyde Park Central School District transportation employee has been named School Bus Driver of the Year by the Duchess County Traffic Safety Board.

Linda has close to 20 years of experience driving buses, and has been with the district for a decade. County officials say she was chosen for her record of safety, dedication and evident care for children and families.

“It’s very humbling, because I love being a school bus driver, “Lawlor said. “The more I do it, the more I love it.“

Lawlor was recognized today at Haviland Middle School and presented with a plaque to commemorate the recognition.
