The Pleasant Valley Fire District stands together with other fire districts, departments and companies across New York State in mourning the line of duty death of Roderick J. MacLeod, of the New Hackensack Fire Department on January 28, 2024.

Firefighter MacLeod, was a 51-year Active Life Member and Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners who dedicated his life to protecting and saving others.

We wish to extend our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters in the New Hackensack Fire Department and to all his family and friends. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

We pray you all heal together and never forget his ultimate sacrifice. God Speed brother!
