Today, our Pleasant Valley community grieves the loss of past Town Supervisor and Honorary Life Member of both the Pleasant Valley Fire Company # 1 and the Salt Point Fire Company, Penny Hickman.

Penny honorably served the residents of Pleasant Valley as their dedicated Town Supervisor for 12 years. She was devoted to her town and will be fondly remembered for her distinguished dedication to public service.

Penny was the mother of our Department Chief, Jeff Hickman and mother-in-law to Rescue Lieutenant Kathy Hickman.

It was an honor and privilege to be in Penny’s presence. She always warmly greeted you with her vivacious smile, ready to listen and help and tackle a problem.

Penny was an asset and a great friend to the Pleasant Valley Fire District and will be greatly missed.
