It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own...Life Member, Past Assistant Chief and Past Fire Commissioner Al Crotty. Al passed away on December 2, 2020 in Fort Myers, Florida

Al served the district and department with distinction and pride for many years.

He served as a Lieutenant from 1965-1970, 1st Assistant Chief from 1970-1972, Fire Commissioner 1972-1973, 1st Assistant Chief 1973-1979, Deputy County Fire Coordinator 1980-1982 and County Fire Coordinator 1982-1989.

Al was instrumental in the design and purchase of the first 4WD fire engine in the county (the original International aka Engine 2 / E166) which was nicknamed Crotty's Cave.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Crotty family.

Thank you Al for all your time and hard work you did for the Pleasant Valley Fire District!

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the NY State Fireman's Home Small Change Fund.

Rest in peace brother...
