It is with deep sorrow that the Pleasant Valley Fire District has to share the passing of our brother firefighter Gerald “Gerry” Haight, 80, who passed away on March 17, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard, a life member of the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Company #1.

Gerry was a very active member in the 1960 - 1970's, joining in 1962. He was the Recording Secretary of the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Company from 1965 - 1968. He was also the recipient of the Mike Cady Memorial Award in 1994.

Gerry was the proud owner of Pleasant Valley Agency, Inc., many times leaving the office to respond to calls in a suit and then running back to work at the completion.

Visitation will be held on March 22, 2023, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Allen Funeral Home, 1605 Main Street, Pleasant Valley. Firematic services will be held at 7 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be held on March 23, 2023, at 10:00 am, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 808 Traver Road, Pleasant Valley, with the Reverend Heather Sisk officiating.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The Pleasant Valley Fire District sends our deepest sympathies to the entire Haight family.
