Pleasant Valley Weather Watch - From Pleasant Valley Highway Superintendent John Baxter

***Storm Update*** as of 3/13/2023 315 PM

Rain will transition to a rain snow mix around 9 PM tonight through 11 PM before transitioning to just snow.

Moderate to heavy snow is expected from 2 AM through 2 PM Tuesday. There might be time Tuesday afternoon where rain mixes back into the snow with slightly warmer temperatures before sunset occurs and temps drop again and snow tapers off by 6 AM Wednesday.

Winds are expected to be enhanced at 15-25 mph with gusts at 25-30. Peak gusts are expected Wednesday morning with gusts up to 45+ mph.

Snow accumulation: 7-12 inches.

Governor Hochul declared a State of Emergency for much of NYS starting at 8pm that includes Albany, Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Columbia, Cortland, Delaware, Dutchess, Essex, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Orange, Oswego, Otsego, Putnam, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Schuyler, Seneca, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins, Ulster, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Yates and contiguous counties.

Stay away from all down lines.

Please limit any unnecessary travel.

Please keep your cars and garbage cans off town roads, so we can plow as efficiently as possible.

If you must travel, please do so safely and remember, don't crowd the plow.
