It is with great sadness that the Pleasant Valley Fire District announces the passing of Past Fire Commissioner, Past Pleasant Valley Fire Company # 1 President and Life Member Donald Cady, Sr.

A dedicated U.S. Navy Korean War veteran and 70-year member of the Pleasant Valley Fire Department, he was a true example of community and national service.

Don was a Pleasant Valley treasure, a friend to all and was loved by everyone who knew him for his humor, kindness, and passion for the fire service.

We all were blessed to have known him, and his life’s work has made our community a better place. His legacy will have a lasting impact on Pleasant Valley, Dutchess County and its residents.”

The Pleasant Valley Fire District sends its heartfelt condolences to the entire Cady family during this difficult time.
