There is an old saying that "the thinner the ice, the more anxious everyone is to see whether it will bear."

While a majority of the town residents was snuggled warm and cozy in their homes this cold and windy winter, a dedicated group of members of the Ice Rescue Team of the Pleasant Valley Fire District practiced their skills, just in case the "ice didn't bear".

Over the last four months, this team of 20 members gave up many of their days and nights to practice their ice rescue skills training at the lake at Camp Nooteeming in Salt Point, just in case someone fell in and had to be rescued.

PERFECT practice makes perfect...
