The members of the Pleasant Valley Fire District EMS Division perform a very important community outreach program, checking defibrillators and teaching CPR/AED classes at a local establishments in the fire district. Key people in each location are then trained on the use of their own AED units while becoming CPR certified.

Recently, EMS Division Lieutenant and American Heart Association Instructor Kathy Hickman, along with EMS Division Lieutenant Barbara Oakes and EMS Division Lieutenant Brandon Kane worked with members of Saint Stanislaus Church to perform this live saving training.

The theme of the program is “One Person Can Save A Life” because after completing the class...one person can save a life!

This very important training is being done on a volunteer basis at no cost with the goal of educating our community on important lifesaving measures.
